LCD Soundsystem concert

On Dec 21th, we went to LCD Soundsystem concert at Brooklyn Steel.

This is opened last year, renovated old factory building.
A bit far from public transportation and city, inconvenient area.

They have serious security check like airport. Checking belonging, metal detector gate and body check. (Is that usual??)

I only know 3 albums and they played songs I don't know but all of them are very catchy, easy to get into the rhythm, swing, dance and jump.

To be frank, James (singer) is just middle age guy, not stylish, not cool appearance.
But once they started to play, their groove swallow us.
Music makes people look cool.(that's why many teens start band, like many of my friends(￣▽￣;))

He said that the day before he lost voice and couldn't utter high notes.
However this day somehow he could, it's miracle.
Still when they played "New York I love you but you're bringing me down", he couldn't sing in high voice but we chorused for him, for us. I almost cried. That atmosphere moved me a lot.

My fiancé's nieces also came to their concert, they are teenagers, they were not so excited...
This band may attract older more?

This is my 2nd day of NY stay.
Very glad to see them, thank you for getting my ticket!

Happy new year!

I took a break because from Dec 20th to 29th, I went back to NY again!

This time, I decided to visit kind of at last moment so didn't make any certain schedule.
Two things for sure were LCD soundsystem concert and my fiancé's family party.
Little by little I update.

After leaving, east coast got more freezing, stay inside and warm!

One way or not

When I visited Times Square first time,
I felt this view could be same Osaka or Tokyo.
Sky scraper is not so rare and bunch of people is nothing special to me.
The most different thing is their so-called power.
Very lively, ambitious, high conscious, enjoy their lives.
And from all over the world.

Some may lose their purpose because here, there are many entertainments.
It's very easy to go with the flow.
Stream is so strong.

But good point is nobody cares of you.
Everybody is busy for own life.
Whatever you're doing, unless it's illegal, they leave you.
Which way is right, which way is wrong,
nobody knows.
That's this sign.

 

This is very confusing, but right way is up to you.

 

 

初めてニューヨークのタイムズスクエアを訪れたとき、
切り取った風景は大阪や東京と一緒だと思った。
高層ビルや人混みは大阪で育った自分にとってなんら特別な物ではない。
しかし決定的に違った物はそこを行き交う人の圧倒的な、陳腐な言い方だけど「パワー」だった。
生き生きしていて、野心的で、目一杯限られた時間を生きている感じ。
それが文字通り世界中から来ている。



住んでいると中には目的を失う人もいる。
ここには多くのエンターテイメントがあり、誘惑があり、
その強い流れに流されることはいとも容易い。
物価は高いし、家賃を払うので精一杯になることもある。

しかし見ようによっては誰も人の生き方を気にしていないのはいいところかも。
みんな自分の人生を生きるのに忙しいから。
何をしようと放っておいてくれる(法に触れない限りね)。
何が正しくって何が間違っているかなんて誰も知らない。
それを表すかのような上の標識。

とてもややこしい。いや、どっちやねん、と。
結局どっちに進んでもその先どこに向かうかは自分次第なんだよね。  

NY fair

Now Hankyu department store in Osaka, Japan, is holding "New York fair."
Once a year they have this event.
Last year, I was in NY, my parents went to check this one and bought slices of pizza.
This year, I'm in Osaka, I visited.

I feel there are more food companies than I expected.
I got canele from "Canele by Celine".
They have 15 flavors at original store, here, they have 9 flavors.
My choice is pistachio, lime, chocolate, ram raison, and lemon.
This is the first time to eat their canele.
Somehow I haven't had any chance to visit this store before.



I like citrus flavor.
Green one is pistachio flavor, needless to say.




Outside is crispy, inside doughy and flavorfully chewy.
I like that texture.

It was fun to check booths but that made me miss NY more, to be honest.
